I agree with all of the above, I feel absolutely guilty if I walk into a grocery store without a list. The few times that I needed to "get just 1 item" ultimately I walk out with 3 or 4 items. I use the strategic shopping method for grocery shopping - I peruse all the grocery ads, write down the bargains & the items I use most in a notebook & compare them to determine which store I'll shop & estimate how much I will spend. I try to bulk up (1-3 months worth) on items I use the most. I also use coupons w/ the bargain buys to save even more money. I can usually walk out of the grocery only spending $20-30. I do shop at least 2 times a month as well.

I am a very careful shopper and use MANY coupons and the store reward card to get bargains...there are days when stores mark down fruit and vegetables and I have been lucky to get in these sales
