Multi-grain foods. However, I now know that Multi-grain just means a lot of grains, not necessarily 100% whole grains.

It's 2010 & at this time in our civilizations history, money has become all important. 'Packaged foods' are created by companies & corporations owned by money driven mankind/shareholders who sacrifice ethics for the buck. 70% of the items in our big grocery stores were grown using GMO's (crossing 2 very different species) & no it does not produce excess food to feed the masses at all. Control. Huge corp. Monsanto has the recent control of food via they have the patent! All very quiet. The gap widens. Labelling of this is definitely present in Europe! I buy safer local produce not the CA (california produce trucked in).
They bought out 95% of the family farms over approx 20 yrs & those are now factory farms in business of producing meat for food. Animals must grow faster & get to slaughterhouse faster to creat more profit for their corporation & shareholders. Pigs, cattle, chickens & turkeys etc are 'life' & used to enjoy the fresh air & sunlight like us. It was nice to drive in the country & see them in th '60's 70's 80's. There are only a few left. Most are crammed inside. I know of a pig farmer that has 3 barns with 15,000 in ea barn, 45,000. Each attached to 2'x7' & cant turn around. Chickens & turkeys jammed into a cage etc. You are what you eat... shop shrewdly for barbeque steaks.. fast grow hormones & antibiotics are given to All factory cattle needed or not, we buy & eat & of course suffer the side effects (no label warning). kids growing taller, young girls bodies maturing at 8 & 9 instead of 12 & 13 am told boys fertility affected..etc.
Maybe this is because the world is so over-populated. Should we do like China & have only One? Or?
Packaged Food? Even less control, No thanks.
Good gas in my car, good food & exercise in my body.

Thank you so much for this article. I always had a feeling that a lean ground beef burger is healthier for you than a highly processed soy pattie, and this confirms it for me. Soy is great in moderation, but so is beef or ground turkey.

I am so glad to have read this! As a vegetarian, veggie burgers and other soy products are a staple for me.
Packaged foods that so many people think are healthy, lean cuisines! Yes, I am guilty of eating these when very busy once and a while, the portion control is very convenient, but they are packed with preservatives and sodium!

Is anything safe to consume these days?
These articles although informative freak me out.
I try to eat as pure as possible, but every time you turn around
something else out there is killing us all.

I will assume this research is funded by the Meat and Dairy Industry. Since there are no warnings about any meat or dairy products. C'Mon, we have all heard at least one nasty fact about meat or dairy.
Until I hear a balanced report of all the foods, I will eat my Tofu.
