Go Green by eating greens. There was a show where the host said, "If you're green inside, you're clean inside." Catchy little phrase.

these are great corrections to the food pyramid, i'm happy to see that the government is catching up to what even popular culture has realized is necessary. the new food pyramid is fantastic as well!

Low fat dairy? You want to keep Americans fat if you lot are suggesting that. New science is showing full fat dairy keeps us satiated thus we eat less and consume fewer calories. Plus, lower fat dairy products generally contain more sugar which leads us to being more obese and having more disease. Please, keep up the current science.

Since you asked... I think that most of the advice in this article is incorrect. 1. Calories in & of themselves do not matter. A calorie is not a calorie & it is not necessary to concentrate on cutting them. This without eating an adequate amount of fat (yes, FAT), will leave you hungry & you will eat. 2. More plant based foods is not the answer for everyone. Most people lose weight & feel better when eating less starches, beans & legumes while eating MORE animal fats & protein. 3. Fish is ok, if you like it. 4. Again, fat is not the problem. Fat has not been linked to heart disease, this is inaccurate information & has been debunked. There is no link, it was merely a hypothosis that was taken as fact & made mainstream. Check your facts. 5. Proteins should be moderate, that is correct, however, they should be high fat, not low. For an average person, 3 oz is a bit low. The more eggs, the better. No need to worry about cholesterol, look it up. 6. Agree with cutting out sugars, but solid fats should not be listed here unless they are trans fats. Saturated fats are needed & should be consumed in high amounts. 7. You have this backwards. It's the refined grains that should be completely avoided, not solid fats or sodium. This is where the confusion came in with saturated animal fats. It's the refined grains that are linked to heart disease, not the fat. 8. Exercise - yes, we should. Not so much on the aerobic side though. High Intensity Intveral Training (HIIT) is better. Along with strength training. Overall, Americans should be eating high fat, moderat protein & low carb. The level of carb intake varies from person to person on how their body reacts to carbs.
