I believe that much of the downside of eating red meat happens when eating it as part of the SAD. Hi carb, low fat, the world is moving on from this. I would be interested to see studies on consumption of red meat within a ketogenic type diet - high fat, low carb, moderate protein. I think you'll find that those who do well on that kind of diet would not see the increased risk of mortality, cancer etc. We are all different and we all have to find our own way in life...

I have grown up eating meat all my life, but it seems that meat has an obviously negative affect on health, not to mention the leading cause of global warming is raising livestock. I want to stop eating meat but I can't. I'm addicted to it.

Simple answer? Go vegan! You'll cut out the cetrsloeol filled dairy products you're still consuming and you'll also add a bit more soya protein into your diet which is proven to reduce cetrsloeol (25mg a day is recommended). I've been vegan for 2 years and I have to say I've lost weight and become a lot healthier in that time.Take a look at the links given for advice and nutritional information.
