sweet fresh summert boiled corn. Sweet corn does not have to be knawed. It is the only time I use real butter. you do not even need salt. It is supposed to be sweet. This stuff is so good you can eat it raw. Even people with dentures like me can eat fresh sweet corn. You can shuck it clean it and blanch it for five minutes untill the cob gets hot and then cool it and freeze it. You have that fresh sweet corn taste all winter ummmmm.

A friend taught me to make creamed corn with evaporated milk and I love it. I freeze corn off the cob in summer just so I can have creamed corn in the winter.

Corn, on the cobb, in the can, or any way, is a complex carbohydrate and should be taken with caution. As with any starch, like potatoes, no matter what vitamins each contain, starches should be consumed in moderation.

Has anyone ever heard of a diabetic diet. Starches are the number one thing that is monitored, and sugars are next.

Ever wonder what happens to the unused caloric intake in your system. Well, you will gain weight, and it is from the carbs, and corn is a complex carb.

So, do it in moderation.

COrn is great as long as you are buying it organic. Somewhere between 80 and 90% of the corn crop in the US is genetically modified/genetically engineered. Research findings are coming out now that GE/GM foods are not healthy for humans or test (lab) animals. So why risk your health and that of your family's by eating non-organic corn?

make a foil packet and smear corn with butter garlic and basil and cook on grill for 12 minutes, yummy

Please keep in mind that much of the 'bi-colour' sweet corn is, in fact, Genetically-Modified corn and therefore, no longer a healthy choice. Up here in Canada, a number of local farmers are passing off Bt corn and the above mentioned bi-colour corn as 'sweet corn' and supposedly fit for human consumption. Be aware of the difference.
