Definitely not advisable to work out on an empty stomach. Your body will have not have near as much energy as it would with some food. A banana and oatmeal isn't too difficult/time consuming to make & eat and makes a great pre-workout meal.

This is a rather useless, and often regurgitated article. At least delve into some interesting information that people *may* not have heard a million times already. Like eating raisins after a workout to help neutralize the body's blood acidity levels. Boome. Done.

Are you joking? Chocolate milk and cherry juice? I'm really sure those are your best bets considering those are loaded with so much sugar your body is going into shock trying to make all that insulin. Stick to whole, unprocessed foods and your body will thank you.

Before exercise i will have a banana or any fruit that available.. sometimes i will have plain cracker or oats cracker..
During exercise, i make sure i drink enough plain water to get me well hydrate.
After exercise, i will drink a glass of milk. Then maybe small portion of rice or oats with a piece of chicken flesh or fish (often soup and steamed) and 1 cup of vegetables..

is it okay Brierley?
sometimes i had leg cramp in the middle of the night.. any suggestion to prevent it frm happening..

I usually don't eat before I work out. If I can't work out for a few hours after I get up I will have 1/2 of a Special K protein shake otherwise, just a cup of coffee with a bit of creamer. Post workout I have light and fit yogurt, blueberries and a tablespoon of muselix.

I workout first thing in the morning so I might have a handfull of almonds or a cup of milk to just calm the hunger pangs. I also take 2 b-vitamin energy strips to get me through the workout. Afterwards, I'll have a protein shake with either fruit, or pumpkin, or coffee in it for breakfast. During my workout, I have a a full 64oz watter bottle with some lemon and lime juice squeezed in. It tastes pretty good! Thanks for the article!

Great article, thanks for sharing. I get up at 3:30am to exercise. I try to be out the door by 3:50 - that 20 minutes in between is spent stumbling around getting dressed. I exercise for an hour, usually running or biking and always on an empty stomach. Is this advisable?
