I like the sardines with the peppers, right out of the can, and I eat it as a late night snack when I am just getting home from a long day and dont want anything to heavy.. People call me wierd that I adore sardines so much.. If only I could get away with eating them for lunch without sounding the smell alarm.

Have any of you nutritionists ever heard of Hemp seed? A fantastic source of omega 3's and 6's, as well as protein. The best tasting ones, in my experience are distributed by Nutiva (much better flavor than Manitoba Harvest)
They need to be fresh, and properly prepared and stored, and as with all foods, get them from anywhere but China... (Due to hemp being the same plant as cannabis, we are not allowed to produce them here in the US, but can buy excellent product from our more enlightened neighbors to the north in Canada)

Hello, I just read your article and caught my attetion right away. I'm orginally Turkish and we consume Sardines alot. I was sad when I first came to the U.S that there was no chance to buy them fresh. Now, I try to eat them canned as much as possiable, which is not the same taste. There are also many recipes that one can try. Pan fried sardines with flour, Sardines pilaf, Sardines soup and Sardines with orange juice and vegetable. Those are all Turkish recipes you can easly search and find. Thanks for the article, just loved it.

I love sardines!! love sardines even now as an adult I still eat them out of the can, with a drissle of hot sauce or with chopped napa cabbage raw and a splash of rice wine viinegar on top to cut the oil residue and fresh ground pepper. Yum-Yum
I grew up back east and my mother always gave the children a choice of eating sardidnes, herring,or some type of smoked fish in place of a daily teaspoon of cod liver oil. She line us up and right before we left for school she'd dose us (5) kids with that AWFUL cod liver oil,, in the liqid form. At school you would be distracted the first 2 periods tying to get that taste out of your mouth, Ha, ha..

I like it with lots of onion, lemon juice and tomatoes.
I fried it in its own oil and eat it on bread, crackers and on rice, so delicious!
How do I get rid of the smell and is there a special brand. I like Brunswick.
