I just open the can and go to it. Have eaten sardines for years just this way. I like the ones in oil. My
other half likes them--oil, mustard,or hot sauce. We have them for lunch with crackers only about 3 times a week.

As was suggested, on a cracker is the best!, My grandfather introduced me to them when I was young. Come to think of it, much of the way he ate (apples by the bushel, cooked beans, home-made vegetable soup, are all in "vogue".

sardines in tomato, fresh out of the can, with sliced onions and a splash of vinegar.. over rice.

I love sardines and enjoy them sprinkled with hot sauce and eaten with crackers.

Bela brand lightly smoked sardines in olive oil - yum.
I found that I love sardines on pasta, and discovered a fabulous recipe on the internet for "Italian-style" red sauce that is delicious beyond words. I could eat it every day but must maintain some self control.

My favorite way is wrapped in a wheat or flour tortilla mixed with pico de gallo. Umm it is so good.

sardines on toast. -wholemeal bread. really good snack meal when im on the go.

Eating a can of these sardines is great even if my husband thinks it gross. You don't need anything but a fork that will do fine......
