I like sardines, but it is hard to find canned sardines with skin and bones. I believe most of the calcium comes from the bone and skin must have some nutritional value. So I don't know why those are removed in most of the canned sardines.

I like to combine two of the most healthful foods on the planet: sardines and avocado. I mash them together with a fork, add lemon juice, salt and pepper and spread it on toast. I eat this at least once a week. Yummy.

Yes! I like them smashed with some capers and chopped black olives and chopped red onions, with a dash of lime and coarse black pepper sprinkled over them! delicious! I love them too with a poached egg with the yolk soft and I mixed all together and eat with a half of a biali for breakfast. That is one great breakfast!

The health benefits are amazing in sardines I had no idea and they are cheap and tasty. I usually buy sockeye salmon but have never bought sardines. I will have to add them to a salad for lunch/dinner and breakfast omelette in organic eggs. Virtually no one I know consume sardines and you get that crazy look from people (that have no concept of healthy) when you tell them about it, and it's sad really oh well. I'll reap the health benefits then! I guess if I told them I like to eat herring (which are sardines just larger and older) they would be ok with that.

Love sardines, especially in mustard or oil. My father and I ate them every camping trip--much to my mother's horror--and I especially enjoyed slurping the spines like spaghetti (okay...I still do that when I'm trying to be particularly disgusting). In college, I could clear a room in under ten seconds just by opening a tin. Yum!

Sardines packed in spring water, bones, skin and all are amazing. I eat them right out of the can, but I never even thought about putting healthy spices on top. Yum!

In olive oil, straight out of the can..... use oyster crackers to soak up the remaining oil

Sardines are for my lunch. I put 4 oz can sardines in my spinach salad: my salad dressing consists of olive oil, lemon juice, apple vinegar, sea salt and Italian seasoning, plus I sprinkle lightly ground Basil. It's light but filing and delicious!

When my dad passed away a few years ago, I found a supply of canned sardines, smoked oysters, and other similar products, in his cupboard. I decided to take them and try them. I really like them, and have been eating them ever since. My usual daily breakfast consists of a can of sardines, scrambled eggs, and a half can of spinach with a splash or two of red wine vinegar.
