Love sardines, especially in mustard or oil. My father and I ate them every camping trip--much to my mother's horror--and I especially enjoyed slurping the spines like spaghetti (okay...I still do that when I'm trying to be particularly disgusting). In college, I could clear a room in under ten seconds just by opening a tin. Yum!

Sardines packed in spring water, bones, skin and all are amazing. I eat them right out of the can, but I never even thought about putting healthy spices on top. Yum!

In olive oil, straight out of the can..... use oyster crackers to soak up the remaining oil

Sardines are for my lunch. I put 4 oz can sardines in my spinach salad: my salad dressing consists of olive oil, lemon juice, apple vinegar, sea salt and Italian seasoning, plus I sprinkle lightly ground Basil. It's light but filing and delicious!

When my dad passed away a few years ago, I found a supply of canned sardines, smoked oysters, and other similar products, in his cupboard. I decided to take them and try them. I really like them, and have been eating them ever since. My usual daily breakfast consists of a can of sardines, scrambled eggs, and a half can of spinach with a splash or two of red wine vinegar.

on a toasted bagel with a thin slice sweet onion. Yum !

saltine crackers, cream cheese with sardines. Sardines packed in tomato sauce are good.

We eat them in Haiti and we sautee them in tomatoe paste, garlic and onion, with a little oregano or thyme seasoning. Or you can try adobo seasoning.

I steam chopped kale and mix it with rice that has been cooked in chicken broth. Then I serve the sardines on top of the rice with a little pepper. It's delicious! I pre-cook the rice and kale and have it ready to make a quick meal
