Should you be picking organic apples?

Brierley asks: Do you pick organic apples?

I believe there must be a misunderstanding about why people choose organic produce. We do not select these items over conventional produce because we believe they are more nutritious. We choose them because they are less harmful to our bodies and the environment. Apples are #1 on the dirty dozen list and this should not be taken lightly. Personally I only buy organic items from the produce listed on the dirty dozen list. If the store is out of organic apples for the week then I pick a different fruit not on the list.
