Nice article. While I agree that probiotics are a must for gut health, I don't believe that yogurt is the way to get an effective dose of probiotics. You would be much better off with Kefir, or a supplement, or a probiotic drink like PHD. Yogurt usually has less than a billion cfus, while most of the options I mentioned have 10B+. Hope this helps.

I do love oatmeal but am surprised to read that as a relief for tummy aches caused by "stress". I can see it as a fibre factor in relieving constipation. I do use "probiotic" yogurt to help relieve tummy aches. I believe Activa was the one which worked best for me... However I find certain brands just cause me a further issue. Otherwise I use "mint tea". Cammomile tea is also a relief if sleep is also an issue with being kept awake by a bad tummy ache. However, I mostly find shoving a pillow under my tummy, or 2 as the best relief- As with collicky babies..It sure appears to be a weird position but it works! Then there is the ol' hot water bottle... For belly aching, I'm a PRO.. Ha

I have started to take probiotics, and I believe I am having less stomach problems.

I would like to think all this could help me . But probably not as I am so stressed out. As my husband has lung cancer.
