But Brierly - what if this study, reviewing 21 other studies, is actually the beginning of a true counterpoint to 'what you've already learned about saturated fat and heart health'? What if all of your prior learning is ultimately proven to be a lot of hand-wringing over the WRONG THING, a lot of barking up the wrong nutritional tree in search of information that wasn't actually even affected by saturated fat intake?
I really, really hate it when new research which examines older research and finds it lacking is 'qualified' by the-stuff-we-think-we-already-know. How on earth is a new truth to ever emerge if it's continually drowned in the false truths of what we thought was correct, and is now shown to be less than right?

This study could be the beginning of a new line of thinking about heart health. Until research tells us more, we shouldn’t abandon what we know about saturated fat, but we should also consider what the study points out that a variety of eating patterns may contribute to heart health.

What about extra virgin coconut oil? I read it's a medium chain fat that is good for your cells.
