Kerri-Ann asks: What natural solutions have you tried to prevent asthma or allergies?

I started drinking raw milk about 3 years ago. I recently had to go back to commercial, processed milk (organic whole) for financial reasons. It was not worth it. Within 2 weeks all the allergies I had been free from while drinking the raw milk came back with a vengeance. I have llamas and I must now wear a mask to feed them their hay - and it still doesn't help. It is the end of May and I find that I cannot even walk outside without developing severe reactions to the pollen in the air. I found this article because at the moment I want to literally scratch my eyes out because of the itching sensation and I was curious if raw milk had been my savior. The only thing I have changed in my life to bring this on is stopping the raw milk. I have even stopped drinking the processed milk to see if that was the trigger. I believe it may be a combination of both. I am amazed at how difficult the government makes it to acquire raw milk. There is a health risk in everything that we eat and I have personally never had any issues with raw milk. Colorado dairy ranchers are not allowed to sell their raw milk except through a share program. I have read some horror stories about what is in our processed milk (pus???) and I'm amazed at how our small farmers are constantly regulated and harassed while larger companies get by with much greater transgressions. We are grownups. Let us choose. I choose not to be miserable during allergy season.

Well, I have been using local honey to relieve my allergies for well over a decade while living in several locations and for me, it works very well indeed to relieve my hay fever allergies.

YMMV, but please don't poo-poo good natural remedies because you simply don't "think" it works. Do the research, ask around, make a scientific study of it with a blind control and the proper circumstances, try it yourself both with honey and without to see how your symptoms vary under different circumstances.

I live happily and healthily at 58 with no medications for any medical conditions (of which I have only slightly high cholesterol), no limitations, lots of energy and vitality by cutting as much HFCS, preservatives and unnatural stuff from my diet as I can and eating a well-balanced diet. How many people can say that?
