As Director of the National Breath Center, I would definitely recommend avoiding these foods, including radishes and cabbage. All these foods are not just absorbed by the mouth tissues leaving the person with bad breath, but they are absorbed into the bloodstream making the bad breath last longer, even up to a few days with garlic and onions.
As for the blog post"Foods to Get Rid of Bad Breath" I think that this is a great article for those who are trying to prevent bad breath. Many interesting suggestions. However, as Director of the National Breath Center, I think it is important to understand the actual cause and what one can do. The anaerobic bacteria referred to in this blog live in a biofilm on the top of the tongue and under the gums.- a complex ecosystem that contains bacteria, their foods (dead skin cells, dead blood cells from under the gums, debris, proteins, and mucous) as well as their waste products which we smell as bad breath.
For those with mild or moderate (occasional) bad breath, brushing the tongue or using a tongue scraper is of great benefit. However, for those who have a chronic case of bad breath, the only way to eliminate it is by eliminating the biofilm coating on the top of the tongue and under the gums.Unfortunately, foods cannot solve this problem. At the Center, we use a technique called Tongue Rejuvenation which eliminates the biofilm down to its source, the bottom of the tongue.
So, take the advice in this blog to prevent bad breath. But if it doesn't work, seek out a dentist who practices Tongue Rejuvenation.

Yes. Some people don't mind the smell of garlic or onion but others can be offended. In my line of work (I'm a receptionist), I have to be particularly sensitive to such things as I work with diverse members of the general public and I'm the 'face' of my company. So I always make sure to have mints handy, keep my dental groom up to speed and avoid scents I know could cause offense.
