Peanut butter and 100% whole wheat bread ( neither of the two should contain hydrogenated oil or high fructose corn syrup!!!). One helps the other to complete a protein. The same thing happens when you eat beans with rice. YUM YUM. Add some cilantro onions and garlic while cooking the beans and your ready to fly!!!

I'm surprised that a food pairing so commonplace is not on this list...

Eating beans and rice together provides your body with every essential amino acid. No other vegetable PARING does this.

Sorry for not providing a reference but you can look it up online.

Pretty good list except I don't quite think that caffeine and sugar are healthy even when they are taken together. One dehydrates cells and the other feeds cancer cells. What a team!

I'd love to see links to some of the research mentioned. Not that I disbelieve, but there is so much misinformation out there, that it's nice to be able to see the studies as well.

Tomatos with olive oil? Sauteed onions and garlic? Come on! Science was needed to confirm what every Greek, Turk, Cypriot, and Italian knows from childhood? Eastern Meditteranean diet is extremely healthy, nutritous and tasty, in good part because it includes olive oil, a measure of good wine, lots of fresh vegetables, legumes, nuts, and moderate amounts of meat.

I am surprised you don't mention taking black pepper with curcumin (aka turmeric or haldi). According to the anti-cancer book I have there's research showing the black pepper increases curcumn's anti-cancer properties by a huge factor.

Basmati and mung beans form perfect proteins, and make a great base for veggie stew. A staple in a good Aryuvedic diet.
