I take a supplement that has the synergy of 5 "foods" that make it work so well (tumeric, bacopa, milk thistle, greent tea and ashwagandha). It's been compared to sulforaphane in a published study and is much more effective in reducing free radicals and oxidative stress. I found this article interesting in that you talk about synergy! It really is true.

Presumably, the sugar doesn't have to be in the coffee, the turmeric on the salmon, or the mustard on the broccoli. I want my coffee black, but I'm not opposed to a donut with it. I'd serve salmon with rice to which turmeric has been added, or chicken with a honey-mustard glaze with the broccoli. This approach wold give the cook a lot more flexibility. What would be good to know, though, is whether heating, say, the mustard or the turmeric would destroy the crucial enzyme

Basmati and mung beans form perfect proteins, and make a great base for veggie stew. A staple in a good Aryuvedic diet.

I am surprised you don't mention taking black pepper with curcumin (aka turmeric or haldi). According to the anti-cancer book I have there's research showing the black pepper increases curcumn's anti-cancer properties by a huge factor.

Tomatos with olive oil? Sauteed onions and garlic? Come on! Science was needed to confirm what every Greek, Turk, Cypriot, and Italian knows from childhood? Eastern Meditteranean diet is extremely healthy, nutritous and tasty, in good part because it includes olive oil, a measure of good wine, lots of fresh vegetables, legumes, nuts, and moderate amounts of meat.
Eggs & beans.
Yogurt & a fibre 1 bar.
