I have recently got on the band wagon removing meats from my diet this week and I also thinking about becoming a vegatarian. I currently have just eaten fish this week and veggies. I have cut out red meat completely and It has not been that bad either. I have added new ways of cooking and now enjoy salads much more now, since losing 40lbs i feel so much better. Adding new things here and there can be a task but there are so many receipes to try and i get encouraged everyday. I still have more weight to lose but I encouraged and I take it one day at a time. ;)

It's easy not to have meat in your diet everyday. In fact, it is rare for my husband and I to have meat in our diet. We substitute beans, nuts and of course eat a lot of vegetables and fruits. The most difficult time to not eat meat is when we are away from home.

It would be hard as I am Italian and we love our meat, but I love a nice Portabella burger and beans of all types make amazing meals! Plus foods like these are just so much nicer for the tummy! :)

Yes I can abstain from meat once a week. There are great recipes for substitutes such as portabella mushrooms, tofu, beans etc. i have jsut started introducing some of these into my cooking and do plan on leaving out the meat when I convince my husband that meat and potatoes are not the only sustanance real men need. I served a dip tonight and guess what it was? hummas with pine nuts and he loved it. Thaank goodness he did not ask.....what is it. I used tofu on a sandwich I made him on Sat. and he loved it and never ask what that stuff was. As you can see I am making baby steps but better than no steps right!! I am getting grreat recipes off this site and plan on using them often.

Sure. Actually, I could live without meat. I have nothing against anyone else who eat meat.
Since having to go gluten free, I am more conscious of the nutritional values in foods. I have Discovered lots of new protein-rich beans and grains. And have even started using the whole grain rice forms rather than white or the usual 'brown' rice.
I have even started eating vegetables that I had never tried. Now, I will see something in the veggies; buy a small amount and Google for a recipe. Haven't been disappointed!

I have been doing this for some time now. My family at first resisted but now Portabella Burgers are a favorite with avocado and red bell peppers (also grilled) with balsamic vinegar and basil.

Easy as Apple Pie. I quit eating meat almost 3 years ago when I looked at what I was putting in my mouth all together. Just because something is sold in a grocery store does not mean that one should eat it and expect to get good nutrition out of it. You still need to work at balanced meals. One cannot go without protein or you just feet empty and hungry all the time. I eat almonds, yogurt, cereal, pasta, soy milk, tofu, soy beans, and other veggies for protein. I love to cook and do not miss cooking meat or having meat on my plate.

looking for a diet plan with no red meat or diary products not a complete vegan but some fish, chicken and turkey
