Increase exercise, eat less fatty milk products, eat more vegetables:)

I eat a cup of oatmeal at breakfast, foods that are high in soluble fiber such as potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots, apples, asian pears, peaches, egg plant, okram mustard green, red lentils, black eyed peas and garbanzo beans.

I follow a whole food plant based diet which has not only lowered and maintained my own cholesterol but also my Dad's who previously was taking statins. The power of food shouldn't be underestimated which I think it clearly is in a large number of cases predominantly because people aren't educated and there is no money in it for the pharmaceutical companies! I highly recommended moving towards a whole food plant based diet. I'm currently studying nutritional therapy and my eyes have really been opened to the importance of a healthy diet and the equally detrimental effects of an unhealthy one!

I really like this news letter. The info is always spot on, and the nutritional advice is much appreciated. My genetics play a serious role in my cholesterol issues, but with the help of my doctor and the great tips given here, along with great heart healthy recipes, I'm gaining ground on the issues.
