IT'S A NICE ARTICLE I ENJOYED READING IT. WE MUST ALL KNOW THAT FOOD IS IMPORTANT IN OUR DAILY LIFE AND EATING THE RIGHT MEAL MAKES OUR BODY HEALTHY. I WOULD LIKE TO ASK IN MY CASE, WHAT FOOD CAN I EAT IF I HAVE ARTRITIS MUSCLE JOINT PAINS AND REGULAR HEADACHES. I HAVE HIGH BLOOD AND HIGH CHOLESTEROL. I AM TAKING CARE OF MY EATING HABITS BECAUSE RECENTLY MY SUGAR LEVEL BECAME HIGH 146 THOUGH I AM NOT YET DIABETIC. I AM 53 YRS. OLD AND I AM TAKING MY MAINTENANCE TABLETS REGULARLY FOR MANY YEARS. THREE YEARS AGO I HAD HYSTERECTOMY AND I AM SUPPOSE HAVING MENOPAUSE ATTACKS.

PLEASE GIVE FOOD ADVICE FOR WOMEN WHO ARE MENOPAUSING AND ALSO FOR THOSE WHO HAD HYSTERECTOMY OPERATION SINCE THE LEVEL OF HORMONES ALREADY DROPPED. WHAT VEGETARIAN MEALS ARE SUPERB FOR THOSE WHO ARE IN THIER 50'S. THANK YOU SO MUCH. MORE POWER TO YOU...

Why are potatoes considered a good source of vitamin C? Are we supposed to eat them raw? Also, what about other cooked fruits and vegetables?

Red meat is harmful for heart . Also same for chest diseases. How should one supply protein ?
It should not be the idea. but should sugg3est the use patterns and methods. Quantify with respect to age, sex and regions. People in developing and least developed countries like nepal are deprived of food for their being.

Dear Ms. Micco:

Potatoes are part of the nightshade vegetables, and so can be problematic (according the the macrobiotic diet). I wish you had singled out sweet potatoes: supposedly one of the best foods around (but a nightshade veggie?).

Beef: it's still a red meat and light meats are inherently healthier (turkey, chicken, etc.). So I'm led to understand.
