It is listed in a ?salmon (or other fish) patty--- a Trader Joe's label. I always read labels! I did not eat the fish; I googled quite awhile and couldn't find any help identifying Potato Extract.

I had an alergic reaction to Metamusil fiber suppliment.Mainly because I took more than the label suggested.I am concerned that inulin could cause a similar reaction.Do you have an opinion on this?

SHOPPING FOR FOOD: It has been my experience that when shopping for your weekly groceries just
buy the number of that one item that you actually need and prevent waste. An example is fruit: If you are
two people to feed, buy 2 pieces of one fruit and 2 pieces of another. Also, buy a small bunch of grapes and some refrigerator fruits such as oranges....just dont buy them in bulk....This is how I save money !
Just because apples come in a 10 lb bag, you do not need that many for one week....some you might put in the refrigerator but that wont give you a variety. So buy for two meals only and save money...

A researcher in California a couple years ago found that the innocuos preservative Sodium Benzoate was reacting with vit c in packaged juices - creating Benzene.
Any fruit or juice containing Vit C should NOT be preserved with benzoate.

carageenan. its healthy seaweed added as a protein stretcher that is healthier than many of the foods it replaces. why is something you would pay extra for in a health food store treated like a nasty additive when its used in things like breading and ice cream?
Is there a reason?

Soy has been linked to higher inflammation. When I cut out all soy my psoriatic arthritis got a lot better. Soy oil is in everything including plain old vegetable oil. Also, grain fed beef has a higher Omega 6 content than free range beef. If you eat free range beef (or any red meat or pork product) the Omega 6 will be lower and the Omega 3 will be higher. My doctor has warned me that soy is not all that great for you and should be avoided if possible.

I heard that mercury is used in the processing of high fructose corn syrup and has been found to remain in the end product. Is that true?
