i must say that drinking alcohol always made me crave cigarettes but meat never had that effect on me. Also I never drank coffee until I quit smoking. traded the caffiene for the nicotine I guess. I ate lots of fruits and veggies and never drink carbonated beverages even when I was a smoker. At certain times in the winter I remember lighting up outside and the tase was off somehow but it didn't stop me from finishing the cigarette.I think that if the fruits and veggies help it may have more to do with them speeding up the process of flushing out the toxins more than it does the taste. But hey, anything that helps right? Good luck to anyone out there who's quitting, its so hard but don't give up.

I think one sence is forgotten when trying to stop smoking and that is the sence of smell. I stopped smoking 15 years ago using fresh spearment leaves (nanna in Hebrew). Whenever I felt the need or desire for a cigarette I just took a few very deep breaths and breathed in the wonderful smell. Other fresh herbs can also help, especially fresh basil. I found the smell was pungent enough to make me feel as my lungs were filling up.
Hope this may help some one to quit. I really didn't think I could do it, but the spearment really helped me.

It is interesting , however to quit this habit the well and the decissiveness is the most important part , though all smokers simply say I really cant quit even without bother to have the try
any habit can be waived or oborted by the practice and the determination for the change just looking for the reasons and what help what dosnt is time wasting
take life serious the life is good to maintain sweet and clean health is so dear and worthy GOD granting us THE GOODNESS we should preserve it not damage it smoking is damaging our goodness

My husband is quiting and I can totally help him out by reducing the amount of foods that he eats that hurt his progress and give him more of the ones that help!
Thank you so much for this!

The reason that people crave a cigarette when they are drinking alcoholic beverages has been studied, and it is due to the fact that alcohol actually lowers the level of nicotine in the body in addition to lowering one's inhibitions.
