I try to get my kids to eat healthy constantly but it can be a challenge! One way I’ve discovered is by replacing their normal snacks and pastas with spelt products. Purity Foods has a line called Vita-Spelt which includes pretzels and seaseme sticks that my kids love and that are good for them! Also whenever I make them pasta, be it mac and cheese or spaghetti, I use Vita-Spelt noodles, they are delicious and are much healthier than traditional pastas! The argument for spelt is a no-brainer. It’s more easily digestiable, which makes its many nutrients more readily available to the body. It’s a good source of fiber and protein and the grains haven’t been inbred and genetically altered over the years like some traditional grains. Nothing is more important than your kids health and spelt is a great way to make sure they are happy and healthy.

I keep my two boys healthy by making lots of food with black beans. Black beans are high in protein, fiber, low in cholesterol, low in fat and taste delicious! There are some excellent recipes on http://www.swbeans.com.
