i use to cook with vegetable then i went to olive oil now i use olive or canola oil and i like both they are both great oils, although for taste wise i like olive oil in my dressings and canola to cook with

When frying foods, which I don't do often, I will use Olive Oil. When baking I use Canola Oil. For salad dressings, I use Olive Oil. Once in a while I will use Vegetable Oil when I'm out of Canola Oil.

I have been using Canola Oil for cooking and Olive Oil for salads etc., however, my husband just recently brought home coconut oil. I am skeptical, is this oil healthy?

Olive oil for general use.
I grease pans for baking with Omega Nutrition's organic coconut oil (it does not taste like coconut)

I cook with Olive Oil and Canola Oil. I use Smart Balance in cookies. Are they safe as Canola? My husband has coronary artery disease.

I use extra-virgin olive oil for my salad dressings and where I need the flavor of the olive oil. For frying I use canola oil. I also use sesamy oil in oriental dressings. I use butter, olive oil and canola oil in baking treats. We are of the opinion that it's better to have a little bit of the real thing that tastes great than a lot of something that tastes less than optimal. I use a lot of recipes with reduced butter content or part of butter substituted for canola, of course, but I wouldn't make a recipe again if it had the right fat but not pleasing the palate. For example, the apple sauce substitute doesn't work well in my opinion, canola oil based muffins work a lot better than the apple sauce ones. Well, I don't eat flour products any more, but when I did, I liked canola muffins better.
