Brierley asks: What oil do you cook with?

I use evoo as my first choice. Canola is second and I like Peanut Oil for popcorn...don't know if is that healthy, but tastes better than canola for that purpose.

I only use coconut oil, butter and olive oil at low temperatures.
I really believe that canola oil is very unhealthy. If you would like to read more information on why I believe that you can read in Nourishing Traditions by Sally Fallon.

I also know that although it states "0" trans-fats on the label of canola oil, they are actually allowed to put in ".5" grams of trans-fats and not list it. We all know that trans-fats are the worst kind of fats to use.
It is also rancid by the time we get if from the store shelves.
We should not be eating any trans-fats in my opinion.

As far as GMO (genetically modified) plants--they are causing a ton of allergies in people, have adverse side effects, and they are creating super weeds that can't be killed.
I am sorry by I cannot support canola oil in any way.

I am not trying to be a downer, or start a fight over fats. This is just something that I believe VERY strongly in, and feel that people should know the truth (in my humble opinion) as well as others.

The company Monsanto has a lot to do with canola oil, and everything to do with GMO products. Something we should all be worried about!

I use extra virgin olive oil most of the time for flavor and health benefits. When baking, I use canola oil!
