No! Anyone who takes the time to create or adapt their own recipe deserves credit for it. If I pass along someone else's recipe I give credit to the recipe's creator (generally including their name in the name of the recipe.) Here's the tricky part when it comes to 'creating' one's own recipe these days: so many people have their 'own' version of certain recipes (take chocolate chip cookies, for example), how do you know you haven't just turned in an identical recipe that has been 'created' by someone else? I try to stay away from recreating much tweaked classics.
By the way, there is NO excuse for plagiarism these days. Anti-plagiarism software exists that can and should be used by anyone submitting a 'new' written piece of any type, especially in the journalism trade!

Doesn't anyone have a conscience anymore? Just because something happens 'all the time' doesn't make it right --- people are murdered every day for heaven's sake.

I would never take credit for someone else's recipe. If I'm inspired to do something new, I'll Google it to see if it's been done before. Any recipe that I have ever posted that wasn't created by me gives credit to the person who created it. I wouldn't want to take credit for someone else's work. Afterall, I'm a great cook myself. I don't have to do that.
But, it doesn't surprise me that people have absolutely no character whatsoever!!!

NO WAY! That is wrong in SO many ways.Even when I post a recipe online...if I got the idea from someone else's recipe, I always credit them and add that I made some substitutions or additions. It's only right to credit the person/book/article/blog that came up with the recipe. Thanks for letting me put in my "two cents".
