I always buy wild salmon. It is tastier and far healthier.

Sorry, but your study does not cover what the Cooke family does in the atlantic provinces. You should complete what you started. Look into the mussel and algae combined production. You must give the full picture.

I would rather not eat salmon than buy the farmed variety. The texture is mushy and it is artificially colored orange. Yuk! Nothing better than grilled wild salmon in the summertime - can't wait for the season to begin.

I buy only wild salmon, but also buy only line-caught fish. I like that line-caught for mid-level and bottom fish, is much more environmentally safe.

I try to buy the wild salmon as I think it is best all around. It is sometimes hard to find in my area.

SweetSpring Salmon Inc. is located in Washington State. Freshwater Coho is ranked Super Green by the Monterey Bay Aquarium's SeafoodWATCH list.

Two years ago, I learned that Atlantic salmon was farmed and fed coloring. After reading about the "farm" practices, I pursued sources for wild caught. Now, I have made it a point to purchase only wild Alaskan salmon.

I have bought both types, however I personally prefer wild due to a better flavour. The farmed salmon is O.K. but you can see the difference, the white parts in farmed fish is fat, lazy fish being fattened up. It also seems slimier to me. Having said that I can't afford the wild and only purchase when on sale in the supermarkets. Where have all the independent wet fish sellers gone? apart from the fish man who sells from the back of his van in my village, wonder just how fresh his stuff is!
