My Thanksgiving table is full of bombs. I guess the biggest would be the pecan pie, but I don't care, it's my favorite. I will never try to watch caloric intake on Thanksgiving. This holiday is one for us to enjoy the tradition, family and eat dishes passed down for generations. I'll go back to watching my calories Friday (well, until Christmas day!)

Based on the information in this article, I made a bet with my brother-in-law that FDR changed Thanksgiving to the third Thursday of November and then moved it back to the fourth Thursday two years later. I wagered my pumpkin pie that this information was, indeed, correct. Because you bastards have no fact checking ability, I am losing out on my pumpkin pie this holiday. Refer to any other source on the Internet for a factual historic account of FDR changing Thanksgiving.

hey, i'm on a 1200 calorie diet at the meomnt and my advice is that regardless of how big the portion size is as long as it is the amount of calories you are aiming to eat for dinner then its fine to eat. like yesterday i had a big bowl of soup that i bought from the supermarket that was 340 calories, it was a lot of soup but it was only 340 calories which is in my 400 calorie range. the reason they are large is because they are healthy foods such as vegetables, if you were to have a regular portion of this is may only add up to 170-ish calories because its little amounts of low calorie foods so to keep a balance they offer them in larger portion sizes. (i have a feeling that paragraph is confusing) so basically, as long as there is around 400 calories in your portion you are perfectly fine to eat it despite whether is is a large portion of a small portion.i hope your diet goes well! mines going really well, lost 7 pounds in my first week and a half!

I am not sure about the biggest calorie bomb. However, thinking up any meals for people who have had heart attacks from high cholesterol (plaque blockages in heart arteries) is becoming so difficult, as trans fats and saturated fats + cholesterol in anything should be avoided..So it is very limiting, as apart from skinless chicken and fish, there is not much else in the way of meat to use for meals, and desserts are almost a no-no. Cookies, cakes etc, all need eggs (egg yolk is hugely full of cholesterol) yest there are substitutes for eggs in baking, but as for actual nice dinners, not much around....

Calories are the only measure your body cares about, and it's acltualy a very good idea to include a lot of fruits and vegetables which are low-calorie but big on bulk to help fill you up while on a calorie reduced diet. Don't depend too much on the sugar-free/fat-free foods though they're often loaded with chemicals and keep you craving the sweets. It's best to just reduce the amount of sweet/junky food from your diet so you stop craving it so much.
