I love apples any way they're cooked and especially apple pie. I do not like pumpkin no matter how it's cooked so my preference has nothing to do with health. I would like to know if you've ever considered comparing pumpkin with sweet potato pie? I'm from the South and have been eating and making sweet potato pie all my life. Probably my favorite veggie. It's good in so many recipes; either sweet or savory dishes. I'm also not a fan of lots of spices in pies. I use only a small amount of cinnamon in apple pies and a very small amount in sweet potato pies. I like the flavor of the apples and sweet potatoes that is masked by lots of spices.

I have to watch the sugar intake due to my diabetes. I would pick pumpkin and make it with splenda. Also, I only eat pumpkin around Thanksgiving and Christmas. Pumpkin is my favorite too.

Well, its a TOSS-UP. Both equally delicious but prefer the pumpkin for the special occasions-Thanksgiving and Christmas. Really prefer Sweeet Potato (Yams in our neck of the woods). They have a sweeter flavor than pumpkin.

Pumpkin brings memories of Thanksgiving- Apple seems more like a summer realted, picnic dessert! However, all of this said, I do not eat the crust-it becomes so soggy! So just the pumpkin custard scraped from the crust seems a little healthier!
