I buy sweet potatoes and small, new potatoes to roast--drizzled with a little olive oil, and cut into 1" chunks and roasted, they are yummy!

Michelle Obama promotes a company that works hand in hand with McDonalds. So much for eating healthy Obamas. And just after her speech to do so, ol' prez himself ordered onion rings, fries, and many other unhealthy items from a fast food restaurant. Way to go, guys!

I will just add a few things that my kids like-
tofu - cube it and season with soy sauce or peanut sauce
miso paste for a super quick soup with tofu, scallions, mushrooms and seaweed
seasoned seaweed or korean seaweed for snacking
canned chick peas

Michelle,

It's nice to think that Mrs. Obama's initiative will assist with childhood obesity and eating properly. However, that will not happen. Here's what she needs to say, but won't:

1. Eat Less Meat
2. Stop Eating Fast Food
3. Eat Less Junk Food
4. Stop Drinking Soda and Juice with Sugar
5. NFL...since we are working together, please do not air all those junk food commercials.
6. Honey, please stop smoking. After all, you are a role model.

And, that's just for starters.

Hello there, we already have plenty of carrots, broccoli, real cheese, real yogurt, walnuts, raisins, apples, oranges, eggs, applesauce, ravioli in a can, I make our bread except for the 1 loaf that must last each of us 2 weeks since that is when I shop, only every two week. That is also for soda, mine lasts since I only drink maybe a cup a day. The single two liter is for 2 weeks. After that it is gone. Kids and I walk our rural roads, garden and tend to some chores living in the county. Lately it has been shoveling snow. We eat real stuff and all things in moderation and are active. So it works for us, could work for everybody if they just arrange their lives around where they live.
