Since we're a non-drinking family (beer and other alcohol), we've found that soda does the job. Rum Extract, mixed in a glass of Coca-Cola is QUITE good, IMO!

A well-seasoned suckling pig cooked to perfection, a mountain of homemade potato salad, arroz y gandules, olives, celery sticks, hummus, some kind of pasta with red sauce, and whatever anyone else brings.

I learned to eat marinated herring in cream sauce when I lived in a polish community. Yum.
