There is a bakery in Michigan that makes a lovely multigrain, artisan bread called Seven Grain Sourdough. It is perfect for grilled cheese. The bakery is the Traverse City based Stone House Bakery, but I buy it in Kalamazoo. Also, an easy Tomato Bisque kind of soup is made when Healthy Request Tomato Soup and a can of stewed tomatoes are combined and heated. Quick and Easy. Also, I use a broiler to toast the bread, using Olivio spread instead of butter. Then switch to bake at 350°, put the slices and cheese together and bake till the cheese melts. SallyC.

I usually lightly toast the bread and then put in the oven at 350 or 375 degrees Fahrenheit for about 15 min. That way you don't have use any butter at all.

I love adding thin slices of tomato!! Grill it and the tomatoes get hot and what a tasty treat!! I use butter, rather then do the pan thing I would rather buy a panni maker, or I used to have a hot sandwich maker that did grill cheese and any other wanted hot sandwich:)

Simply try toasting whatever bread u choose, before u put on the cheese, and then place in the oven at about 350 degrees for a few minutes, to melt the cheese...doing it "open face" allows the cheese (I use sharp cheddar) to melt and u can turn on the broiler for a few seconds if u like the cheese to become "grilled"...Just make sure to watch the oven, as the broiler can scorch your sandwich in a matter of seconds!! Lol!!

I make a hopped up modified version of my "Burnt Cheese". Butter a couple of slices of whole wheat and I've used one slice of pumpernickel and a slice of hearty rye too. Add a couple slices of "Oven Roasted Turkey" a slice of whatever cheese you please, then I heap on a generous pile of sauerkraut and grill that baby on both sides. You could even add some "Thousand Island" dressing. I guess you could call it a "Grilled Turkey Reuben" I've been know to butter the bread and sprinkle garlic salt, onion powder and parmesan cheese and fold all that together to make a paste, it's like a "Grilled Turkey Reuben" on garlic bread. Bon Appetit Adios n' Hasta La Bye Bye! L.D.

For the best tasting grilled cheese sandwich, use whole wheat bread and put half of a tablespoon on one side of each slice. Place a sluce of provolone cheese between the bread and put a few slices of tomato inside and cook in in a pan until its crispy on the outside. Serve with something like tomato soup or even mariara sauce and that's it! To make it healthier make it how I make it, which just means don't use butter and just cook it on the pan, it won't stick.

Balance cans on top of a second skillet inside the first skillet? I don't think so.
