Hilary asks: What are your tricks for keeping dirty dishes to a minimum?

Each member of the household washes every dish they touch when they're finished using it.

Good afternoon everyone, what we do at home is use paper plates. Sandwhiches, fruits, and snacks and sometimes, depending on dinner, we used them too. Saves water and time.

I keep a bowl of hot soapy water in the sink, and use it to wash as I cook. I also love "ethnic" dishes, a lot of which can be prepared using a minimum of pans and utensils.

Quick pasta dishes that involve throwing the vegetables in with the pasta, draining then throwing together a quicky sauce in the pot the pasta coked in. Voila! One pot.

Clean as you go. I get a nice sink of hot soapy water ready...
While the food is cooking. I wash the dishes that have soaked.
By the time the meal is done. Almost all the dishes are clean.

Thanks Granny for that awesome tip....
