Brierley asks: How do you satisfy your sweet tooth without overloading on sugar?


I love rice cream what could i eat to satisfy my sweet hunger could i have sugar free jello,sugar free ice cream.

I have been told Stevia is a very good substitute for sugar! I am going to try it myself as I have food intolerances and need to cut out sugar as much as possible.

My best way is by looking up recipes sweetend with dates :)

I put a spoonful or less honey in peanut butter and sometimes put on a piece of toast or eat it by itself.

I make cookies and muffins using powdered erythritol and almond flour. I add a bit of xantham gum to compensate for the lack of gluten in the flour. Not all recipes can be converted, but many can. Powdered erythritol does not work in place of brown sugar, for instance, and almond flour makes for a chewier cookie. But at least I get to eat cookies once in a while, which is wonderful!

Fresh strawberries are my fail-safe. They are sweet & delicious and I don't get a sugar overload. If I really want sugar then I have a serving of really dark organic chocolate (70-80%).
