I use fat-free Greek yogurt instead of milk and cream, but I don't change the amount of sugar in the recipe. It allows the flavors I use (whether fruit or vanilla) to shine through. My husband used to work at a local dairy, and he can't believe my ice cream is fat-free. Our favorite is mango banana rum topped with toasted coconut.

These are some great suggestions but they don't do any good without a tried and tested recipe. I have to wonder why there were no recipes attached with this article. Like everyone else says "Where are the recipes"?

for l gallon use one can of sweetened condensed milk and l can of pet type milk. Also use i large box of instant vanilla pudding mix.Add vanilla flavoring and enough regular milk to fill can up to about 2 inches from full, add sugar to taste making it slightly sweeter than you think it needs to be , for you will find that after freezing ,the coldness will lessen the sweetness of the mix.To make any fruit flavor, use about 1 quart of the desired fruit such as bananas, strawberries, peaches, pineapple, mangoes or other fruits.Mash fruits up well with a little bit of sugar.Use less whole milk to accommodate the fruits volumn. You will find that the combination of the 2 canned milks along with the INSTANT PUDDING MIX will give the desired smoothness and mouth feel that you will desire and you will not miss the heavy cream and egg yolks at all.
