Fried foods, I always crave fried foods when I am trying to diet. So, like once a week I allow myself a small fry at Mcdonalds to stave off the meltdown.

It is so true! Everyone wants a magic pill, book, video, etc. but the fact is counting calories IS the magic solution. My husband and I started on Feb. 2 (2000 calories a day for him, 1500 for me) and I have lost 25 lbs., husband down 29 lbs. Don't make it harder than it has to be :)
My favorite indulgence is craft beer. High in calories but pair a good hoppy ale with a single square of super dark chocolate and it is fabulous!

Shrimp cocktail feels indulgent, but is fairly light. I like to include some sort of dessert, preferably something chocolate. The EW Chewy Chocolate Cookies are an excellent choice.

Dark chocolate, preferrably one with ginger. Love the zing with the rich chocolate.

A chocolate covered strawberry -- I have reserved a coffee cup for my dipping chocolate -- warm it in the microwave for 15 sec or so, then dip in a dry, room-temperature strawberry. I lay it on a piece of waxed paper and stick it in the fridge until serving time. The chocolate in the cup simply hardens until the next time I make them.

But I don't do "diets" - not a good way to lose weight long-term!

It helps if I have to chew longer and can savor the flavor. Here's my snack treat and I hope it's an ok treat...I don't have it every day but it helps when I have a sweet torment moment...lol.
1 Tbsp choc chips
2 Tbsp lightly salted peanuts
l Tbsp dried cranberries
Pinch of coconut (optional)
Mix and serve in a little bowl to munch while reading, etc.

PASTA.....preferably with a rich Alfredo type sauce with seafood. That's my downfall, but I've learned to use whole wheat pasta and make the sauce not so fattening......with the help of EatingWell Magazine and their website of course!
