This makes complete sense. When I eat fast I normally eat more. This is good to know!

I eat fast too and have tried to eat slower but usually quit. But now I'm ready to start and one thing that I used to do that I thought was helpful was take a sip of my drink after each bite (eat, sip, eat, sip, etc.). I hope this continues to work for me and others too

Eating and having a conversation helps me eat slower--when my mouth is constantly moving in order to talk I forget to put food in it! Then before I know it, i'm too full to finish the entire meal.

I try to put my fork down as often as possible which helps me slow down on eating. I also color cordinate my food on the plate so I can go from one color to the other or one food type to the other equally. This helps me to eat balanced. Hope this helps

Also you can have varieties of boiled different types of liquidy beans like kidney beans, Mung, chana dal varieties of diffent Indian beans (from Indian stores) little cumin, salt, turmeric powder, clove and cinnamon powder, pepprika or add varieties of herb like cilanto , and grated ginger, garlic, green chillies) before you start an actual meal. We tend to eat very smaller portions.it is nothing but a bean soup with lot of water and a good flavor in it to fill the tommy up before actual meal.
For good Recipe of bean soups follow " Tarla Dalal or any Indian Recipe books by "Kappor".

My trick is to use smaller utensils. The smaller the fork and spoon, the less food you can consume in one bite. Without even trying, you end up eating slower.
