How many calories are in that coffee?!? 4 sips to watch out for, plus lighter choices

Straight-up double espresso! Gives me a boost without weighing me down :-)

Since I do not prefer to sweeten my coffee, a skim latte is my treat, however, I just 'discovered' the Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte (skim), and it is delicious - not as sweet as some other specialty drinks. I have only had one, but next time, I might need to forgo the whipped cream.

I'm glad your lighter options are comparable to the original drinks. A lot of sites don't do that.

My standard coffeehouse order is a café americano—iced in summer, hot in winter. Full caf, half-caf, or decaf, depending on time of day. I especially like ordering an americano later in the day, as it's prepared fresh; I don't have to wonder how long the drip coffee has been sitting around getting stale.

A skim milk latte or cappuccino is an occasional treat. A mocha (skim milk, no whip) is an even more occasional treat.

I do take real half-and-half in my brewed coffee, but I don't like to add sugar or artificial sweeteners. If I want sweetness, I'll sprinkle in cinnamon, nutmeg, or pumpkin pie spice. Because half-and-half is high in calories and saturated fat, I'll usually limit myself to one cup with it per day. If I want more coffee, I add unsweetened cocoa, which adds richness for just 10 calories per tablespoon.

Recently, I've discovered that I can fake a pumpkin spice latte (really, pumpkin spice café au lait) at home with strong coffee, 1% milk, pumpkin pie spice, and about half a tablespoon of no-sugar-added pumpkin butter. I heat the milk with the pumpkin butter and spice, whip it with my immersion blender until it's frothy, and add to my coffee. Gets some yummy flavor without the cloying sweetness, and at a fraction of the price.

STARBUCKS: Venti, Triple shot, No Whip, NonFat White Mocha and if i feel I deserve it I get the whip.

Starbucks Soy Chai - no water, extra foam.......delicious, creamy, spicy. Yum!

I love Starbucks White Chocolate Mocha....yes, loaded with calories but since I don't have a Starbucks in my town it is a nice treat for me once or twice a year.

I have tried making my own mochas and other coffee drinks but haven't hit on anything that tastes comparable to "the real thing".
