At some point or another it seems like we all make a New Year’s resolution to lose weight, get fit, or eat right, so I wasn’t really surprised to read that the most popular New Year’s resolution is to lose weight. (The fifth most popular resolution is to get fit and the sixth is to eat right.) But all of the diet gimmicks that promise those results with little time and effort only work for a little while, if at all.
As a nutrition editor at EatingWell I can tell you that the EatingWell Diet isn’t a short term weight-loss gimmick—it’s a recipe for successful, long-term weight loss. And it really works. Last summer, we selected nine readers to take The EatingWell Diet Challenge, including Jenn Moore and Troy Hermansky (pictured above), who together lost 34 pounds on the EatingWell Diet. This easy-to-follow, 12-week program helps people lose weight by making small, simple changes to their daily habits and by cooking delicious (low-calorie) recipes. Collectively, over three months, the nine participants lost 112 pounds.
Now it’s your turn: make your New Year’s resolution to eat right, get fit and lose weight come true! Take this quick quiz to find out if you’re ready to commit to a change. If you are, follow EatingWell’s online Diet Challenge—a step-by-step program, with a new focus each week, to help you lose weight successfully.
