I used to.... but would go off on binges because I never felt satisfied.
Now it is a matter of portion control, and education. I pick the carbs that are good for me w/protein and fiber, watch my fat and sugar intake, and drink WATER. Brown rice, wild rice vs. white rice; whole wheat pasta vs. white pasta; sweet potatoe vs. mashed, etc. Was on a diet once that cut almost all carbs. You ate meats, greens and only some fruits. I lost 75 lbs, but was constantly hungry, constipated, and the weight came back on as soon as I reached my goal. I learned that this kind of diet was messing with the ketones in your system to burn more fat.

I try to reduce carbs as much as I can but when I need to have some carbs I usually eat the "good ones", tha is, whole wheat, barley, popcorn (without salt or butter!)etc. I try to have 4-5 portions of fruits and vegatbles every day too.

i am afraid of carbs. but i know the good carbs are better for you, yet i'm still afraid of the myths i've beleived that are deeply ingrained. .

I eliminate any "refined" carbs when dieting and limit my intake of whole grain breads and pasta. I seem to "crave" carbs, even "good" ones if I eat them too often. I love a very hearty whole grain brat, but limit myself tio 1 slice 2-3 times a week, saqme with any pasta. I use Quinoa as a meat substitute with sugar snap peas, a few sliced almonds and some low sodium Thai peanut sauce for a light meal.

Yes, I eat mostly proteins and veggies. I tend to gain weight eating carbs. and breads, pasta as well. I'm 51.

ABSOLUTLY....CARBS ARE POISON AND ANYONE WHO DISSAGREES IS FOOLING THEMSELVES THAT THEY CAN EAT PASTA AND LOOSE WEIGHT

Yes, every now and again I go for a week or 2 without carbs and am guaranteed I would shed off some kilos.
