I stay away from fancy appetizers and caloric mixed drinks at holiday parties, and avoid egg nog altogether. But my husband gets me dark chocolate almond bark each Christmas, so how could I say no to that? I also indulge in our family's traditional Christmas cookies, but try to limit my intake.

those calorie amounts are not that shocking. Most deserts are 400 calories or more per slice.
