Reading above, I don't fully agree with your statement about the research done on Canola oil vs. Soybean oil. I don't feel that rats gained less weight because of the benefits of Canola, although Canola is very healthy. I feel that the rats gained weight because Soy is so unhealthy. Soy is the most genetically altered plant on Earth and it genetically contains, toxins and pesticides as well as huge amounts of phytoestrogens (female hormones) that female bodies can not process excess amount of and male bodies should not have, other than trace amounts. Soy grows cheaply, quickly, large, drought tolerant, and contains built-in pesticides. Because of this, "big business" wants you to believe it is good for you and you NEED it.

Most of the ideas in the article are fine and common sense but did you have to throw in the stuff about a vegetarian diet? Most active people benefit from eating some sort of animal protein. And your comment about it possibly being "better for the environment"? I know you live in a communist utopia there in Vermont but please strive to keep your political views out of an article supposedly about health.

This helps. My first step was to try a detox diet. Muscle gain helps too. Do check out www.themusclegain.com
