I do not care for what Michelle Obama eats, use examples of the common day to day woman who has to struggle to keep a balanced life between responsibilities of family, finances, work etc,etc. Our First Lady can have the luxury of having e/thing done for her, exercise as she pleases, have extravagant taste for expensive hair salon visits and so forth; so her example does not reach the common American woman. If you look at her pictures when she entered the White House for 1rts time and now, you would have to realize we have done a good job to support her new life style. Most American woman eat on the run; please provide with real and achievable expectations for that woman. You may think I am this bitter and overweight woman; you guessed wrong. I am actually thin and I follow a good diet, for my self and my family. In any way I am condemning the way our First Lady lives, she and all of them before her deserve it, this is the position they worked hard to achieve along with their respective husband, but their plates are by far the plates of our common American woman. Nor the common American woman have servants to feed them every 6 hrs so their metabolism remains active. My intention is not to be reactive but proactive in defense of information provided to the common American woman.

The best way I've found to slim down that is also free is to weigh myself every day and adjust my eating for the day accordingly - This requires a digital scale graduated in tenths of a pound.

It's hard for me, personally, to not overeat on healthy foods- especially grapes. They are my down fall. I think, 'hey, it's fruit, so I can have as much as I want' or at least that's what people around me tell me. I have a hard time trying to stop eating fruits and veggies and know my portion sizes are off because if it's out, I will eat it. I usually don't put fruit in a serving bowl, and especially with grapes, will just grab a handful or two when I walk by. Which is another thing- I will eat anything if it's out and available but not really if I have to open it to eat it. Advice on not overeating?

I think motivation is the biggest factor in weight loss. I recently discovered an amazing show on ABC called Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition ( Monday Nights at 10pm/9c). Chris Powell, the weight loss expert is a master motivator. He's an inspires even the most obese people to lose nearly half there body weight. I recommend you watch this show.
