I think she fails to mention the amount of "White" carbs that are in many of these items. One shouldnt be as worried about the fat content as they should the white carbs. These are broken down rapidly in the body, and if your glycogen stores are not low, will spill over and be stored as fat. The typical response to this would be "well what about the calories?!? Fat has 9 cals per gram!". Has anyone noticed why the people who count calories are generally the ones who are overweight, and never find anything that works for them? Being a competitive bodybuilder, I can tell you calories mean nothing, one must count the macro nutrients. If America continues this trend of low fat, with a heap of white carbs they will remain obese.
