Walmart is giving their signature Winemakers Selection collection a makeover. The collection initially launched in 2018 and included 10 different bottles from regions across Italy, France and California and ranged from $10-16 per bottle. Now, the newly relaunched collection will discontinue its Italian and French varieties and focus solely on options from California regions.

The series will introduce new varieties of California wines including pinot grigio, chardonnay, rosé and a red blend. Previously, the only variety from California was a cabernet sauvignon, which will still be available for purchase. Each bottle of wine will cost just $5, so you can afford to try each varietal. And if you need help deciding which bottle to buy, try picking a wine according to your zodiac sign.

The wines are available this month and can be found across Walmart’s 2,600+ stores. In addition to the new California wines, the company is revamping the label designs to create a sleeker look. According to a Walmart representative, they also plan to “offer more opportunities for customers to learn about wine and will continue making investments in quality and premiumization while offering everyday low prices customers expect.”

While it’s unclear what these opportunities will look like, the company seems dedicated to improving their wine collection. And in a year like 2020, a bottle of affordable wine is exactly what I need at the end of a long day. (And when you’re done, turn the empty bottle into a fun, decorative project!).
