We typically roll our eyes whenever a celebrity announces that they are doing a "diet challenge,"but Oprah's latest 30-day diet challenge is one we can actually get behind. After sitting down with Suzy Cameron, climate activist and author of The OMD Plan, last month, Winfrey was inspired to change up her diet. You can watch their interview, here.

Cameron's book encourages readers to simply swap one meal a day that typically consists of animal products with one plant-based meal, for the sake of both our individual health and the health of our planet. It's very similar to a Flexitarian Diet, in that it doesn't restrict the foods you can eat, but does encourage plant-forward eating.

According to The Oprah Magazine, Oprah was so moved by the notion that eating for your health can also make our planet healthier, she decided to try out plant-based eating for herself. She's documenting her 30-day journey through Instagram Stories on her personal account, and through IGTV on @OprahMagazine's account. There's a "30Day Challenge" highlight on her profile, where you can keep up with her experience and find delicious plant-based recipes.

"If you've been thinking about going vegetarian or vegan, I think this is a good way to lean into it where you don't have to give up everything you've been eating your whole life in one day," Winfrey tells Oprah Magazine.

Winfrey teamed up with her personal chef, Raymond Weber, to create a meal plan to help her enjoy delicious plant-based meals that actually leave her satisfied through busy days. While you likely don't have a personal chef at home to whip up Roasted Pumpkin & Wild Field Mushroom Risotto or Fresh Vegetable Tartine (we sure don't!), our team of registered dietitians have created some *free* meal plans that can help you reduce your environmental footprint, improve your health and still enjoy delicious food.

We have everything from a 7-Day Mediterranean Vegan Meal Plan to a Clean-Eating Vegetarian Meal Plan to a flexitarian-style 7-Day Heart-Healthy Meal Plan to help you eat healthier with ease. Our 30-Day Meatless Challenge is a great way to cut back on animal products at dinnertime, too. Plus, just like Oprah, you can even eat out on occasion—she's a fan of vegan burgers with french fries and salad. It's all about balance, right?
