Alright, alright, alright, it's time for some heartwarming news! Not only has Matthew McConaughey finally joined Instagram (his first post and stories are extremely promising) but he has also been serving California firefighters and those left homeless by the wildfires ravaging the state.

McConaughey teamed up with Operation BBQ Relief, a disaster relief organization, and Wild Turkey Bourbon to cook and deliver 1,600 hot turkey dinners—half of which went to first responders in Los Angeles, and the other half to nearby homeless shelters. According to a press release, the actor and his team were already planning to honor first responders for their work fighting last year's fires that week and quickly changed course to respond to the current emergency.

"Teaming up with Operation BBQ Relief as part of the Wild Turkey "With Thanks" has never been more meaningful," said McConaughey, who serves as Wild Turkey's creative director. "Little did we know when planning this annual event that California, my second home, would once again be hit with devastating fires. Being able to provide meals to the men and women who put themselves on the line is an honor for me, Jimmy and Eddie Russell. We are grateful to be here today to say thank you, shine a light on their unwavering conviction, and hopefully inspire others to get involved and help in their own communities."

Through December, Wild Turkey will continue to support Operation BBQ Relief to thank first responders in Dallas, New Orleans and Chicago with turkey dinners supplied in part by Butterball as part of their "With Thanks" initiative. Those looking to contribute to the cause can donate, here.
